Medicare Part B helps pay for Doctor’s Visits and Outpatient Procedures

Often referred to as medical insurance, Medicare Part B is designed to help you pay for things like physician visits and outpatient care. Medicare Part B isn’t free. However, premiums can be deducted monthly from your Social Security, Railroad Retirement Board pr Civil Service Retirement check. If you don’t get any of these payments, you’ll get a bill for your Part B premium so you can pay Medicare directly.

Costs Covered Include:

  • Services from doctors and other health care providers
  • Outpatient care
  • Home health care
  • Durable medical equipment (like wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, and other equipment)
  • Many preventive services (like screenings, shots or vaccines, and yearly “Wellness” visits)
